Pay Attention in School

Your parents have said it, your Uncles and Aunts have said it, and now I'm saying it. Pay attention in school. A good education is a lifetime investment so you should strive to do well whether you decide to graduate from High School, University or Trade School. If you just go through the routine then you'll just get routine results, and for celebrities that can be quite embarrassing.

Take Justin Bieber for instance. Any gaffes he makes will be widely publicised which is how someone like myself finds out about them. The most recent one was on a TV talk show where he confuses the Sistine Chapel with 16th chapel. Of course if you want something truly cringe worthy then the radio interview in New Zealand will really have you shaking your head.

Justin isn't just being ridiculed for his apparent dumbness, but also his inability to deal with people in a professional or courteous manner. This was evidenced in another radio interview where Justin hung up on the host! I've listened to the interview, and apart from Justin coming across as a babbling buffoon there was nothing there to warrant him hanging up. I can't claim that not paying attention in school has contributed to this sort of behaviour, but one can't help but wonder if there might be some correlation (especially when it comes to forming a coherent argument).

It may not be that he hasn't paid attention in school but more that he has been pushed into the spotlight as a showbiz kid. This article explains that as a showbiz kid, your natural maturation into adulthood will be very different to a kid that isn't in the public spotlight. Certainly in Justin's case his grounding in a solid education appears to have suffered, and this is evident from his many gaffes. Even so if it were me I'd want to remedy the situation, and pretty quickly. In my opinion the blunders he makes are inexcusable.

Education is important, not just for yourself but to society as a whole. Justin might be able to cruise through life being dumb because he's got squillons of dollars stashed away, but he'll always be ridiculed for his lack of basic knowledge and apparent lack of maturity. For us mere mortals that aren't going to amass mega wealth the greatest assets we can have in life are health, education and youth. Don't waste it, and pay attention in school!
